Festive Day at Beaulne museum this weekend
The Beaulne Museum in Coaticook is inviting the local and regional population to an event organizers are calling, “Festive Day at the Museum” this Sunday, May 26, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This celebration, now a well-known tradition at the museum, is an opportunity for the community to better get to know its Museum.
On the agenda for the day is a variety
of free indoor and outdoor activities including exhibit visits, Children’s programming, a display of student creations, a quilt demonstration with Sylvie Leclerc, a demonstration of blocking a lace knit with Laurence Bacon, demonstrations by artists from the group “Coatic’art”, and music provided by the “Harmonie de Coaticook” orchestra.
In addition to these activities, the new virtual exhibition: “Created in Coaticook. One Town's Story of Ingenuity and Creativity” will also be launched as a part of the day’s celebrations
The museum will also engage in a few fundraising activities during Festive Day, including a tent sale of various items, and a picnic of items like homemade Chilli, tortillas, Coaticook cheese, hot dogs, Coaticook ice cream, juice, soft drinks, and tea, among others.
For a second year, the Coaticook MRC and the Federation of the Eastern Cultural Communities are delighted to organize “L’espace de la Diversité” on Festive Day at the Museum. Activities such as henna, Latin dance by the Herencialatina troupe and other activities aimed at bridging the gaps between different cultural communities will be offered to visitors of various origins.
Festive Day at the Museum is happening rain or shine. All are welcome.
