t a recent meeting the members of the Knowlton Lions Club agreed to give a contribution of $4,000, part of the profit of the last garage sale, towards the rejuvenation of the Knowlton Academy cafeteria project.
The objective of the project, initiated and designed by volunteer Kirk Lawrence, is to renovate and update the kitchen and student dining area. The project has received wide community support and will include improvements to the floors, walls, lighting and plumbing. Several updated appliances and new student seating are also in the plan.
The Lions have been a regular supporter of the projects of both Knowlton Academy and l’école St-édouard throughout the years. At the cheque presentation, the Knowlton Lions Club new president John Staton stated, “As Lion’s Club members we are pleased to be able to join the community in contributing to this worthwhile project and we are very proud of our local educators and educational institutions.”
