The environment, let’s talk about it
On Monday, Oct.3, the community organization Les oubliés de l'autobus is inviting federal candidates of the Brome Missisquoi riding to participate in a debate on the topic if the environment.
The event, called The environment, let’s talk about it (l’environment, Parlons-en) is part of a cross-canada initiative leading up to the federal election to learn the environmental priorities of political
parties.
The debate is one of the 20 organized in Quebec alone, and over 80 taking place across Canada.
The upcoming local debate will take place in the Brome-missisquoi riding at Salle La Missisquoise in Eastman.
Concerns like climate change and the right to drinking water have become electoral issues for voters from all walks of life. The environment, let’s talk about it is a non-partisan, solutions-focused forum for Canadians who want to know the level of environmental ambition of all political parties and candidates and see our political leaders collaborate in the establishment of a future healthy and safe for the environment.
This is the first time that substantive debates of this magnitude will take place in Canada on the theme of the environment. Sherbrooke will also host one of the upcoming debates, hosted by CREE (Conseil régional de l'environnement de l'estrie).
