Team Estrie wins silver at Quebec Equestrian Games
The 24th edition of the Quebec Equestrian Games welcomed nearly 350 riders and 9 regional teams, including the Estrie team to the Complexe Équestre Bécancour.
After three days of competition, the Estrie delegation, led by team leaders Claudia Lyne Cuerrier and Diane Fortin, won second place for the third consecutive year for a total of 46 points. The champion title went to the Laval-laurentides-lanaudière team with 83 points. The Southwest is on the 3rd step of the podium with 41 points.
The Estrie team won the silver medal in dressage thanks to the performances of :
- Jade Berthiaume (Bromont), gold medal in dressage Level 1 Free retake in music, gold medal in dressage Level 1 "Junior".
- Magella Robitaille (Township of Hatley), bronze medal in dressage Level 1 Free retake in music, silver medal in dressage Level 1 "Junior".
- Marie-lou Bergeron (Austin), silver medal in dressage Training Level Free rehearsal in music.
- Liliane Boileau (Saint-lambert), bronze medal in dressage Level Free training in music.
- Mariane Genest (Eastman), silver medal in dressage Level 2 Free retake in music.
- Justine Plesant (Magog), gold medal in the "Adult" Dressage Plate.
- Audrey-maude Mekkelholt (Carignan), bronze medal in dressage Initiation Poney.
- Marie-lou Bergeron (Austin), silver medal in dressage dressage Pony training "Junior".
- Daphnée Dépelteau (St-jean-surrichelieu), bronze medal in dressage Level 1 "Junior".
Estrie participants also won the bronze medal in show jumping after the performances of:
- Jade Morrissette (St-théodore d'acton), gold medal at the Mini Prix Jumping Poney.
- Catherine Laliberté (La Prairie), silver medal in 1 m show jumping and bronze medal at the end of the Medal Jumping event
- Alexie Gauvin (St-dominique), bronze medal in pony show jumping.
In hunting, the following riders allowed the team to win the gold medal after a fierce battle with the Lavallanaudière-laurentides team.
- Maude Grenier (Ste-hélène-de-bagot), gold medal in "Adult" Hunting, gold medal in the Hunting Classics.
- Olivia Favretto (Westmount), gold medal in Child Hunting.
- Eve Bouthiller (Granby), silver medal in hunting "Medium Pony".
In addition, the following riders provided valuable support to the team to enable them to take 2nd place on the podium:
- Sarah Lemay (Carignan), silver medal in Junior C Riding.
- Maude Grenier (Ste-hélène-de-bagot), silver medal in Adult Riding.
- Eryka Skye Boisvert (Mont-saint-hilaire), gold medal in Junior A Riding.
- Frédérique Lemay (Carignan), bronze medal at the end of the Poney Medal event.
- Emma Larochelle-lemieux (Sherbrooke), bronze medal in Combined Prebeginner "Junior" Events.
- Catherine Bureau (Sherbrooke), bronze medal in Combined Events Pretraining "Adult" Pre-training.
