Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary Branch #15 Richmond

The regular meeting of the Ladies Auxiliary was held at 1 p.m. on September 18. Flags were placed in stand by Cmde Shirley. The meeting was opened by President Bev. Cmde Ann read the minutes from the June meeting and also an Executive meeting on August 20, these were accepted.

Cmde Bev thanked everyone for their help over the summer at two events at Wales Home and also at the Richmond Fair.

The Treasurer’s report was given and all was in order. Plans were finalized for the Chicken Pie Supper on September 21. Branch members will help prepare and clean up after.

Donations were made to St. Francis cafeteria fund, the snack program at R.R.H.S. and to the Terry Fox Foundation.

The first card party of the season will be held on September 26. Poppy campaign sheet was passed around and some of the members signed. The meeting was adjorned by Cmde Dawn and seconded by Cmde Shirley. Half and half was donated to Friendship Fund.

The first card party of the season was held on September 26. After a few announceme­nts were made and everyone welcomed by Shirley, the games got underway. Lunch was served and then the prizes were given out.

First with 30 flags went Shirley And Ian Smith, Francis Saffin and Clifford Lancaster. Second with 25 flags was the table of Elizabeth Mastine, Carole Boisvert, Lise Boisvert and Jim Stevens. Low with 10 flags went to the table of Ghyslaine Redburn, Patsy Biggs, Freda Coote and Colette Pageau.

19 door prizes were also given out. The grocery box was claimed by Lucie Beaudin.

Thanks to everyone who supported our card party, hope to see everyone on the 24th of October.
