Aube-lumière thrift shop open for business

As of yesterday, the thrift store-boutique, opened seasonally to benefit La Maison Aube-lumière, opened for the fall.

Located at the Place des congrès shopping centre (near the Delta Hotel), the thrift store will be open from Wednesday to Saturday from Oct. 2 to Nov. 2, offering something for all tastes.

"This autumn we will be holding our 11th edition (spring and autumn combined) and the success continues,” explained Diane Roy Dubois, volunteer in charge of the clothing store for the fall of 2019. “Our clothing store is the best kept secret in town and sales are constantly increasing!" she added. “And our customers will benefit from great surprise sales every week!”

Marie Bécotte, Executive Director of La Maison Aube-lumière pointed out. "Thrift stores are very fashionabl­e these days. We upcycle and it's in the spirit of the times! The young love to come and make new discoverie­s and the not so young almost always find an unexpected treasure! ", commented Bécotte.

The volunteers at the Aube-lumière store will welcome their customers according to the following schedule: Wednesdays, from 10 a. m. to 5 p. m.; Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Fridays, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. People with beautiful women's clothing to donate can bring it to the thrift store or directly to La Maison Aube-lumière.

Since 1997, Maison Aube-lumière has welcomed more than 3300 people with advanced cancer free of charge. In addition to housing them, La Maison provides them with high quality palliative care and accompanie­s them and their families in a warm atmosphere that respects their choices and values. To achieve its mission, La Maison must raise $1 million annually in the community.
