and consistent direction in a structured and enriching environment.

Snow was surrendered to a municipal pound at just 9 months of age.

Although we haven’t had any contact with her former family, we suspect they brought her into their home as a cute little puppy but failed to give her the structure and training that every puppy needs. In short, Snow was let down by her humans and now needs the support and love of a committed adopter.

At the shelter, she enjoys playing fetch and is friendly and well behaved with all the volunteers. She readily gives her ball and is even quick to plop down for a belly rub. We have really come to enjoy her happy and outgoing nature. With high value items, however, like a bone or her favourite spot on the couch, she can be protective and reactive. Our trainer was able to take a bone away from and hold it while she chewed with no problem so with an experienced adopter who understands her needs and behaviours she has the potential to learn. Snow needs to know and understand what she can and cannot do and those rules must be consistently applied.

Snow does not do well with small dogs but she is good with bigger dogs and responds well to their signals. She is likely a husky mix but mixed with what, we are not sure. Her coat is curly, so perhaps she is mixed with a lamb :-) Snow enjoys her walks and is pretty good on leash. Giving her plenty of exercise and mental stimulation will be beneficial to her overall health and well-being.

Because of Snow’s current potential protection issues, we are looking for a home without children. Snow is approximately 1 year old.

If you think you can provide Snow the type of home environment she needs to thrive, we’d love to hear from you. To meet her, please send an email to frontieranimalsociety@gmail.com or better yet give our adoption coordinator Brenda a call at 819.876.7747 any day of the week between 8 a.m and 8 p.m. Adoption visits are by appointment only.
