CHUS Foundation gives $94,600 to quality of care projects

The CHUS Foundation announced which projects will be receiving financial aid through its Brigitte-perreault fund in the year 2020 on Tuesday. A total of nine projects proposed by employees and doctors of the CIUSSS de l’estrie – CHUS will share $83,600 which will be used to help im-prove the safety, the quality, and the humanizati­on of health care at the Fleurimont and hospitals.

The projects retained for funding include the creation of an adapted environmen­t for people living with chronic pain, support for teams offering adapted services for seniors, updating end of life care kits, the creation of a video on the path of a radio-oncology patient, the creation of a video on CPR, the developmen­t of a list of key actions for friends and loved

Hotel-dieu ones of a hospital user, a reflection on ethics, improvemen­ts to the care experience during emergency surgery, and the creation of an interactiv­e animation with an integrated risk management quiz.

The funding announceme­nt also included the news of this year’s recipients of the Dre Rachel Bujold bursary. This year’s winners are Ximena Avila-monroy, Pierre Robichaud and Sarah Vachon, Katia Carle-talbot,

Gabrielle Patenaude, and Vincent Lévesque Dion. The winners share the $10,000 prize.

A sum of $1,000 was also split between honourable mentions Jessica Ruel-laliberté, Valérie Goettel and Virginie Plante.

The Brigitte-perreault fund was establishe­d in 2005 for projects aimed at improving quality of care at the CHUS. Since 2006 it has supported 111 projects with a total of $938 055
