Letters Thank you for community support
In this time of uncertainty, the unknown and extra stress I would like to thank both the population and our sponsors, Julie Coderre from the Jean Coutu pharmacy in Cowansville, the Financial Group of Mcgale, Charpentier, Côté of National Bank, Virgin Hill and Brome Luke Ducks for making our virtual cancer walk a success. Yeah, to everyone who wore pink and did socially distanced and safe walks. Together we were able to raise over $75,000 dollars which will go directly to the equipment used in laparoscopic surgery at the BMP Hospital. By your efforts, all patients undergoing a laparoscopic surgery will benefit.
We now move towards the Christmas season, for all of us it will be different, but for some it will be difficult. I must thank everyone who has picked up a Christmas Angel and will give to someone they will never know. By your generosity you will be making someone’s Christmas special. To all of you I hope you have a safe and happy holiday season.
The Yamaska Valley Optimist Club continues to help children in the area with involvement in breakfast programs or lunch programs at schools, our backpack program for school supplies, our involvement with the group homes etc. Of course, normally we hold our International Women’s Day dinner as a fundraiser to support our activities, which was cancelled in March. Therefore, to raise money to allow us to continue to help youths of Brome Missisquoi we our holding a virtual purse auction from November 20 to November 29, 2020. Access the auction through our Facebook or Website YVOC.CA. There is a selection of great purses and you will be supporting a great cause. Of final note, the pick-up of the purses will be done in a safe and secure manner.
Thanks to all of you for supporting the Yamaska Valley Optimist Club and allowing us to help the youth in our beautiful valley, happy and safe holidays to all.
