Coaticook lights up for Christmas

- Record Staff

This year more than ever, Quebecers have to do things differently. In Coaticook, the municipality rolled up its sleeves to come up with creative ways to keep spirits high.

A big surprise awaits the people of the region to celebrate Christmas Eve.

On Dec 24th at 6 p.m., a huge fireworks display will light up the sky over Coaticook. The launch point for the fireworks is very high which will allow a large part of the population to see them from their homes. According to the weather forecast, the fireworks should be visible from several kilometers away. Non-residents who would like to come and watch the show are invited to use the municipal parking lots throughout downtown Coaticook.

All the partners involved in organizing the fireworks display hope that these few minutes of happiness will bring light into the majority of homes in the City of Coaticook to kick off a very special Christmas.

To continue the festivities, people are invited to tune in to the 96.7 fm CIGN to listen to the rerun of the Christmas show produced by the Arts Pavilion. It will be possible to hear voices from home: Daniel Thibault, Martin Thibault, Aryel Thibault, Valérie Paquet, Valérie Crête, Réjean Audet and musicians Jacques Roy, Catherine Maurais and Dominic Cloutier.

“I’m really happy that we can offer a fireworks display like this to our citizens on Christmas Eve. Thank you to all our partners who are always behind us to propel our projects and Merry Christmas to all, “Simon Madore, mayor of Coaticook said in a press release.
