Featured pet: Arlo
Last week we welcomed 4 new dogs, 3 of them Bernedoodles (Bernese Mountain Dog/poodle) who were surrendered by a commercial breeder who thankfully has closed down.
In all 19 Bernedoodles were rescued from this commercial breeder. After spending several weeks undergoing initial socialization with the help of volunteers at Forever Homes Rescue, we are happy to welcome Arlo, Ginger and Libby.
Today we have chosen to feature Arlo who is the most outgoing of the 3. At just over a year, he currently weighs a little over 60 pounds. Sweet and friendly, he is good with other dogs and despite his lack of socialization, he is very people friendly.
Coming from an overcrowded breeding facility, Arlo had limited, if any, opportunity to experience life including the great outdoors, so he has a lot to get used to. Everything is new for him including walks on leash, play time as well as all the different sights and sounds. Despite all of this, Arlo is quite good on leash, and he is a very willing participant.
With the love and support of an adopter who understands his needs, Arlo will flourish. He is ready to continue learning about the world around him while adapting to his new (and better!) life.
Although Bernadoodles are considered to be low shedding, they are not necessarily hypoallergenic and they do require regular grooming.
We are looking to place Arlo into a home where he is not left alone for long periods on a regular basis. We think he’d be fine with, and appreciate having, another friendly and confident dog as a companion.
