Welcome back to our Pays de L’ardoise weekly update. We’re taking a look at some places you can visit in the region as well as some events and activities that are underway. Do you have something you think we should share? Join us at the coordinates listed later in the article.
Richmond Fair
Richmond Fair has a new project that is underway. This year and each year until the 175th anniversary, a mural will be added to the fairgrounds. This year, it will be created in the building where the antique tractors are housed. Come September, it will be the 168th fair. Programming is currently underway, and more details will be released once they are available.
The fair’s car raffle tickets are also available from the fair’s directors and at several businesses in town. A complete list of businesses is available on the fair’s website and Facebook page. You could win the 2024 Corolla hatchback or $20,000. The drawing will take place at the fair in September.
Café du Couvent
Another gem in our community that you might want to visit is the Café du Couvent (200 Rue du Couvent, Richmond) They have a varied menu of food and beverages in a beautiful setting. Learn more by visiting their Facebook page.
La Boucane BBQ
Newly opened in Richmond is the La Boucane BBQ Restaurant (382 Rue Craig). Enjoy the authentic taste of BBQ close to home without having to make it yourself. You can dine in or order takeout. Full details are available on their Facebook page.
Fromagerie le Compagnard
Did you know that you can find freshly made curd cheese in Richmond? Fromagerie le Compagnard (394 Rue Craig) is known for their squeaky treats, and also have a menu including poutine available for dine in or take out.
Community Jam
The Richmond CLC has organized a Community Jam where the community can have the opportunity to share their opinion on the services offered in English. Head over to the Royal Canadian Legion (235 College North) for 9 a.m. to enjoy fun-filled discussions as well as pastries, fruit, and coffee.
