U2 Tribute Band to preform benefit concert the Boulanger-bedard Foundation on April 6 at Massey-vanier

- By Louise Smith

Last year the Fondation Boulangerbedard put on a benefit concert featuring “Time It Was”, a band which featured the music of Simon and Garfunkel and Cat Stevens. The Foundation was hoping to sell 400 tickets, and 700 tickets was the total in the end! It surpassed all their expectations. The Foundation is hoping for a similar success this year.

This year, on April 6, at 7:30 p.m. Joshua2, a U2 tribute band, will be starring in the Massey-vanier concert. They are North America’s top U2 tribute band and they have been pleasing crowds for over a decade. The band delivers U2’s music in an energetic and passionate show highlighting the music of this famous Irish rock group. You can go on Youtube to see the high caliber of the group.

The Fondation Boulanger-bedard has been raising funds for over 40 years. It has contributed over a million dollars in funds to over 130 organizations in the Bromemissisquoi region. Cultural, artistic, educational, and medical research organizations have all benefitted from the generosity of the foundation. The primary focus is on projects which center on youth and youth projects in our region. Donations can be made through this charity concert or can be made on line through Canadahelps or can be sent directly to P.O. Box 2198, Sutton, Qc J0E 2K0.

The tickets are going for $50 each. They can be purchased at lepointdevente.com. They can be accessed by going to the Facebook page of the Fondation Boulangerbedard. Tickets will also be available at the door, if not sold out.
