A look at the Secondaire en spectacle Estrie regional final
Beyond the prizes and recognition, the experience gave the young artists taking part in the competition an emotional evening they won’t soon forget.
The energy was palpable in the hall and backstage last Thursday evening, as participants in Secondaire en spectacle Estrie took part in the program’s regional final, held at Salle Québecor du Salésien de Sherbrooke.
Students from the participating schools were present in the audience, along with parents, friends, partners and other members the Estrie cultural scene, to offer their support to the young artists.
Procedure and selection
of winners
Participants from École Mitchellmontcalm, Richmond Regional High School, Polyvalente Montignac, Salésien and Séminaire de Sherbrooke touched the audience right from the start of the show with their performances, as well as their creations and interpretations in song, music and poetry.
During the jury’s deliberation period, the audience was treated to special performances by two participants in the Cégeps en spectacle program, Jennifer Bellerose and Lorenzo Leblanc, before the longawaited presentation of prizes to the winners.
The acts selected by the judges, each earning a place at the Rendezvous
panquébécois, were :
- First place: Une barque sur l’océan, performed on piano by Clémence Vigneux, from École Mitchell-montcalm.
- Second place: Les coloriés, by Alex Nevsky, performed by Félicia Fredette, Tristan Boisvert, Jérémy Bisson-grenier, Lorenzo Corpuz, Lhea Forest, Savannah Mace, Trinity Raymond and Linsday Maurice-morin from Richmond Regional High School.
- In third place: Asphyxie, a music composition and poetry by Fiona Mercure, Mia Desjardins, Clémence Ouellette, Déliane Loranger and Marie Pomerleau from Mitchellmontcalm school.
- Animation: the team of Benjamin Barrie, Rosalie Evans and Zoïk Huard from Richmond Regional High School.
- Stage technique: Amédé Mercure from École Mitchell-montcalm
- Journalism: Éléa Bousquet, Nour El Houda Khalil, Anne-sophie Nault, Vitoria Nazar Romero, Florence Rivard and Zachary Ruel from Séminaire de Sherbrooke, for their podcast following the local final.
