End of year activities for CABMN senior and youth services
Asuper day was had by all on Wednesday June 12 at Parc André Gagnon located on the north end of Mansonville, as the Missisquoi North Volunteer Centre (CABMN) held its end of year picnic. Seniors programs offered by the CABMN will now break for the summer allowing folk to enjoy the good weather with family and friends with programs restarting in the fall.
48 people enjoyed the hot-dog picnic, salad bar and desserts with the help of the super SAPA team made up of Angelle Laplume, volunteer Carmen Aubin and Coordinator Lucie Beaudoin.
The fun began with a Viactive exercise session, followed by a musical picnic, and ending with an electric bike trial. The participants really appreciated the event with good comments, especially about the all-beef hot dogs with their nicely toasted buns!
“We enjoyed the day so much,” said Lucie Beaudoin, “We will have to do it again real soon!”
The CABMN youth programs animated by Coordinator, Ethan Ball and animator, Tess Hostyn Coll took a different approach in ending their programs for the summer. All five weekly youth programs celebrated the end of year with an awards ceremony held each day of the week with each respective group gathered. The awards ceremony named a youth of the year for each group, gifted all participants with a small gift and made a special snack together each day to share.
Tuesday is Mayo/jam farm program with Ronin Fournier winning Member of the year. Wednesday is Home Economics group with a duo winning the title, Spencer Glover-neil and Dimitri Lessard. Thursday is Leadership with Sophie Gaulin the member of the year. Friday is Dance sponsored by Townshippers Foundation and animated by Savannah Jersey and Lilly Woodard won for Dance Member of the Year. Saturday Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) and another duo win, Amelya Jersey and Alexis Eldridge.
Youth groups restart in the fall. Happy summer to all from the youth and senior centres of the CABMN.
