Knife threat leads to mul­ti­ple charges for woman at saugeen First na­tion

a 25-year-old woman who bran­dished a knife and re­fused to sur­ren­der was ar­rested with­out in­ci­dent by oPP tac­tics and res­cue unit (tru) mem­bers ap­prox­i­mately 10 hours af­ter be­ing called to a high­way 21, Saugeen First na­tion ter­ri­tory, ad­dress.

in a nov. 30 press re­lease, South Bruce Penin­sula oPP said they were called at 7:52 p.m. nov. 29 to the oc­cur­rence, but be­fore of­fi­cers ar­rived, the woman left the res­i­dence af­ter mak­ing a threat with a knife.

Po­lice found the woman at a Kewageshig St. res­i­dence but she re­fused to sur­ren­der.

The Ert locked down the ad­dress overnight while oPP of­fi­cers, with help from grey county and Bruce Penin­sula oPP crime unit, got a war­rant to en­ter the res­i­dence.

at 6:10 a.m. nov.30 po­lice en­tered and ar­rested the sus­pect with­out in­ci­dent.

the woman, who was held for bail in a Walk­er­ton court, was charged with as­sault with a Weapon, as­sault, ut­ter­ing Threats cause death or Bod­ily harm, Fail to com­ply with re­cog­ni­zance.
