Clear library book fines and help Local Food banks ‘Food for Fines’ campaign begins in December
Bruce county Public library wants to help patrons and local food banks by offering amnesty to those with overdue books, if they bring an item of non-perishable food for every $2 in fines, to a maximum of $10.
items must be dropped off at any Bruce county Public library location from dec. 1-8. The library will also gladly accept food donations from those without fines.
BrucecountyPubliclibrary’s“Food for Fines” consistently clears close to $200 in overdue fines and each library branch delivers the donated items to their closest food bank.
The program supports the library’s goaltoeasebarriersthatmaydeterresidents from using library resources and services, while contributing to an important need in our communities.
