Cam­paign of­fers com­fort and joy

The an­nual Sal­va­tion Army Christ­mas Ket­tle Cam­paign is un­der­way in Saugeen Shores with ket­tles at four lo­ca­tions in­clud­ing Gi­ant Tiger, Row­land’s Your In­de­pen­dent Gro­cer and Wal­mart­inPortEl­gin.InSouthamp­ton, the Christ­mas ket­tle is at Food­land.

Now in its 128th year, the an­nual fundraiser accepts do­na­tions to help The Sal­va­tion Army as­sist the one-in­seven Cana­dian who lives in poverty and strug­gles to eat.

Lastyear,TheSal­va­tionArmy­helped over 1.7 mil­lion peo­ple, in­clud­ing pro­vid­ing 3.2 mil­lion free meals, 7,300 emer­gency beds each night, and as­sist­ing 269,000 with Christ­mas food ham­pers and toys.

The cam­paign wraps up on Christ­mas Eve.
