Sus­pect wanted in cheque fraud

Nor­folk OPP would like any mem­ber of the pub­lic who can iden­tify this in­di­vid­ual to share what they know with the de­tach­ment in Sim­coe. The sus­pect - pos­si­bly from Os­hawa is wanted in con­nec­tion with the al­leged theft of cheques in Sim­coe in April and May. Po­lice are seek­ing the pub­lic’s help in iden­ti­fy­ing a man who is wanted for ques­tion­ing in con­nec­tion with a sus­pected fraud in­volv­ing stolen cheques. The owner of a busi­ness on the Queensway West in Sim­coe con­tacted po­lice in July after cheques in the mail were al­legedly in­ter­cepted and de­posited in the sus­pect’s bank ac­count. The al­leged thefts oc­curred in April and May. Images of the sus­pect were cap­tured on sur­veil­lance cam­era and shared with po­lice. The Nor­folk OPP re­leased the images on Tues­day. The sus­pect is be­lieved to be from Os­hawa. Any­one with in­for­ma­tion re­lated to this case is asked to con­tact the Nor­folk OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
