Reck­less mo­torist in Dun­nville

Com­plaints of a reck­less driver in Dun­nville this week re­sulted in sev­eral charges against a Haldimand man. Shortly after mid­night Tues­day, po­lice be­gan re­ceiv­ing com­plaints about a mo­torist who was driv­ing reck­lessly through­out the town. Of­fi­cers fi­nally lo­cated the ve­hi­cle and pulled it over. The driver sped away from po­lice in mid­con­ver­sa­tion and the pur­suit re­sumed. After re­ceiv­ing sev­eral more com­plaints, po­lice tracked down the sus­pect ve­hi­cle and the sus­pect at his home in Dun­nville. A 32-year-old man was ar­rested and charged with dan­ger­ous op­er­a­tion of a mo­tor ve­hi­cle, flight while pur­sued by a peace of­fi­cer, es­cap­ing law­ful cus­tody and re­sist­ing ar­rest. “OPP would like to thank all of the con­cerned cit­i­zens who called in to re­port this reck­less driv­ing be­hav­iour,” Const. Rod Le­Clair, spokesper­son for the Haldimand OPP, said in a news re­lease. “Thank­fully, there were no col­li­sions or in­juries.”
