OPP seize drugs and firearm

A man and woman were hit with a num­ber of charges stem­ming from an in­ci­dent on Lock Street East in Dun­nville on Nov. 28. On that day mem­bers of the Haldimand County OPP Com­mu­nity Street Crime Unit ex­e­cuted a con­trolled drug and sub­stance act war­rant and seized a quan­tity of il­licit drugs, Cana­dian cur­rency and a loaded firearm along with am­mu­ni­tion. A 28-year-old Dun­nville man and 25-year-old woman from Hamil­ton were charged with four counts of pos­ses­sion of a sched­ule I sub­stance, care­less stor­age of a firearm, pos­ses­sion of a weapon for a dan­ger­ous pur­pose, unau­tho­rized pos­ses­sion of a firearm, tam­per­ing with a se­rial num­ber of a firearm, knowl­edge of unau­tho­rized pos­ses­sion of a firearm, pos­ses­sion of prop­erty ob­tained by crime un­der $5,000. Both were held for a bail hear­ing at the On­tario Court of Jus­tice in Cayuga.
