Hol­i­day sea­son in Delhi

The an­nual Santa Claus pa­rade was held in Delhi on Satur­day night. About 40 en­trants took part in the pa­rade. Ear­lier in the day, mem­bers of the com­mu­nity showed their char­i­ta­ble side by do­nat­ing to the Nor­folk OPP Aux­il­iary Food Drive.

With some help from Nor­folk Fire Sta­tion 5 in Delhi, the Nor­folk OPP Aux­il­iary held the first of sev­eral Christ­mas food drives on the week­end on be­half of lo­cal food banks at Wilkin­son’s Your Lo­cal Gro­cer on Main Street. On hand ac­cept­ing do­na­tions of food and cash Satur­day af­ter­noon were, from left, Delhi fire­fighter Tyler Ste­fan, OPP Aux. Sgt. Kirstie Jones, and Your Lo­cal Gro­cer in Delhi Matt Wilkin­son.

Dan Ver­ho­eve of Delhi on In­ter­na­tional 140 and with Delhi Foundry to­bacco planter from the mid-1960s. Unit rigged up with a gen­er­a­tor and cov­ered in Christ­mas lights.

Linda We­ber, chair of Delhi Fallfest, helped pre­pare the Fallfest float fea­tured in Satur­day’s Santa Claus pa­rade through town.
