Drug arrest at Holy Trinity

Simcoe Reformer - - NEWS -

A teen was arrested this week at Holy Trinity Catholic High School on suspicion of peddling marijuana.

Norfolk OPP were summoned to the school over the noon hour Thursday.

Following an investigation, a 17-year-old male was charged with possession of cannabis for the purposes of selling contrary to the Cannabis Act.

Back when marijuana was illegal for recreational purposes, the charge would have been “trafficking.”

Const. Ed Sanchuk, spokesperson for the Norfolk OPP, says the terminology has changed to “selling” now that Ottawa has legalized marijuana,

The accused cannot be identified under terms of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
