The mid-November international friendly between England and

USA at Wembley Stadium was used to help raise money for the Rooney Foundation. The English Football Association had planned to have various bucket collection points both inside and outside Wembley so that supporters could donate. However, none of the 68,000 in attendance were able to donate because there wasn’t a single person collecting money, despite the FA having a license to collect charitable donations.

The FA said they were unable to set up the collections areas and find volunteers due to a lack of time. Wayne Rooney’s charity has missed out on thousands of dollars because of this.
