AROUND THE HOUSES

Two Wolverhampton Wanderers fans took a rather unorthodox route to Newcastle to support their team at St. James’ Park. Steve Horton, alongside another fan, travelled to the Spanish city of Benidorm in Alicante, courtesy of Ryanair, to get to the match, as it was far cheaper than getting the train. A ticket from Wolverhampton to Newcastle would have cost around £114. However, a flight from nearby Birmingham to Alicante cost about £30, while a direct flight from the Spanish city to Newcastle is as little as £15. That’s a £69 saving.
