WHAT A STEAL
Serie B side Palermo has been sold for €10 (yes, you read that correctly) to a Londonbased company, as confirmed by outgoing owner Maurizio Zamparini. The 77-year-old owned the club since 2002 and during that time he appointed more than 40 managers. Zamparini stepped down as club president last year following a failed takeover bid, but has managed to sell the club now for a “symbolic price” to Global Futures Sports. The new owners will work towards settling the club’s outstanding debt of €22.8 million and will also put in plans to build a new stadium and training centre.
