Tests have allegedly showed that former Fiorentina captain Davide Astori had extra heartbeats less than a year before his tragic death last March. According to reports, Astori took two electrocardiograms in July 2016 and July 2017 in order to be declared fit to play. However, both tests showed small clues that his heart didn’t work correctly. A professor from the University of Padua, an expert in the field of cardiology, suggested that the ex-Viola captain should have been subjected to more in-depth examinations. The prosecutor has since opened an investigation.
