FIFA have paid out over $209 mil­lion to 416 clubs from 63 mem­ber as­so­ci­a­tions for the World Cup in Rus­sia this past sum­mer. FIFA has a re­spon­si­bil­ity to re­dis­tribute the rev­enues of the tour­na­ment among the en­tire football com­mu­nity and clubs de­serve to share in the suc­cess, ac­cord­ing to FIFA pres­i­dent Gianni In­fantino. Be­cause clubs re­leased their play­ers, who are un­der con­tract, to par­tic­i­pate and play with their na­tional teams, FIFA has given them a cut of the rev­enue. In the Bun­desliga, Bay­ern Munich re­ceived the high­est amount, $2.6 mil­lion, fol­lowed by Borus­sia Dort­mund with $2.07 mil­lion and Borus­sia Monchenglad­bach with just over $2 mil­lion.
