Make the most out of your eyeglasses

Are your lenses intelligent? Do they automatically adapt to different light conditions and keep you protected from UV and blue light at all times? If not, you might be missing out.

Transitions are a permanent lens treatment that can be chosen when eyeglasses are ordered. Transitions cause the lens to turn dark outside, then return to clear indoors and automatically adapts to different light conditions. This means that the lenses will be much darker on a very bright day than on an overcast day.

Transitions are easy to use and wear because they change automatically. This eliminates the need to carry additional pairs of glasses, clips or fit-overs. Transitions are ideal for people looking for a hassle-free solution, people with dexterity challenges or for children. While it can be more economical because it can mean just one pair of glasses, it should be noted that many people insist on additional pair of prescription sunglasses, and for good reason! A second pair of prescription sunglasses can offer more wrap, coverage and lens options, but it is nice to understand that Transitions in a clear pair of glasses is a convenient option as well. Transitions are such a popular choice that people getting a separate pair of sunglasses will often also request that Transitions be put in their clear pair of glasses.

The newest versions of Transitions react more quickly, become darker outside and are clear when indoors. Older versions are slower and can leave residual, unattractive colour indoors. Old versions of Transitions are still available so ask your eyecare professional if they are using the latest version, Signature 7. Transitions are available in nearly every prescription and can be put into any type of frame. If you are thinking of your grandfather’s old Transitions or Photogrey lenses, think again. Transitions Signature 7 lenses work much better than they did in the past.

Traditionally, Transitions were available in only grey and brown. Next came iconic green. Just released this summer, Transitions are now available with certain lens choices in the Transitions style colours group, amber, amethyst, emerald and sapphire. Transitions are also now available with a mirror finish, including silver, flash gold and violet-blue, with bluegreen and copper soon to follow. There are a few other specialty options as well, including a polarized Transitions option called Transitions Vantage and a darker version, Transitions Xtractive, that has more reaction in the car. All of these choices are making Transitions become appealing to a wider audience. These are not just for Grandad anymore! They are becoming popular for all ages.

Transitions are easy to use, adapt automatically to different light and offer so much more than a clear lens. The next time you are choosing eyeglasses, consider choosing Transitions Signature 7, the light intelligent lens. With enhanced comfort and protection, your eyes will thank you for making an intelligent choice.
