“We want this to be a place for everybody,” Dorey says. “We want this to be a place for students, seniors and families — for everyone.”
She says she thinks people choose the burgers as the best burgers because “our burgers are bacon infused. We grind bacon and hamburger together along with a few other ingredients. This gives our burgers the unique flavour. Our recipe is prepared by Fresh Cuts and our buns are fresh, daily supplied by Weagles’ Bakery.”
As for the milkshakes, she explains, “Our milkshakes are all old-fashioned fresh ingredients — fresh strawberries in our strawberry shake; perked coffee in our coffee shake and maple syrup and ground walnuts in the maple walnut.”
She adds, “I think this is why we were voted [the] best! Fresh ingredients and made with love!”
For the second year in a row, Towne Flowers at 755 King St. has been the Readers’ Choice for the Best Florist in town and for owner Shelley Wilkie, that’s an honour she does not take lightly or for granted.
“I am deeply honoured that people trust us to be a part of those special things in their lives like the milestone events,” Wilkie says. “It’s overwhelming that people are comfortable with us doing the flower arrangements for their happy occasions as well as the sad events.”
Wilkie, who bought Towne Flowers two years ago after work- ing for the previous owners for 10 years, adds, “We are humbled to be chosen for this award and we want to thank everyone who voted for us.”
