Figure skating pair 16-year-old Gabrielle Levesque, Bridgewater, and her partner, 20-year-old Pier-alexandre Hudon, Saint-rocDes-aulnaies, Quebec, have been named Cleve’s Source for Sports Team of the Month for April.

Hudon and Levesque have been skating together for two years.

“In the first year they received a Junior Grand Prix Assignment to compete in Poland. That same year only seven months together they won a bronze medal at Nationals,” said coach Charleen Cameron via email.

In 2018 they received two more grand prix assignments (Austria and Czech Republic), another bronze medal at Nationals and “a dream goal reached for both of them to represent Canada at the Junior World Championships in Croatia this past March” where they placed 15th and set a short program personal best of 43.92 in a field of 100+ competitors from 20 countries.

Cameron said Hudon and Levesque are “extremely motivated to climb the world rankings. Right now, they are busy doing shows almost every second weekend. Also working hard on the elements for their next season. New music is being picked for their new programs next year.”

The pair have also just been named to the Skate Canada Next Gen team for the second year in a row and will be attending the

Next Gen camp on May 5 to 7. Levesque and Hudon train at the St. Margaret's Bay Skating club.
