Free ARTS & ENTERTAINM­ENT Cheering for art AETHNE HINCHLIFFE Liverpool Regional High School (LRHS) celebrated the arts with an annual Night of the Arts event at 7 p.m. June 12. The celebratio­n took place in the school’s gymnasium and featured LRHS’S concert and jazz bands. There were also some solos, duets and group performanc­es, including a teachers’ skit. Chantel Corkum is the high school’s music teacher and band director, and Libby Broadbent is the visual art teacher. AETHNE HINCHLIFFE PHOTOS Ben Cowling plays an original song, ‘City Ecstasy,’ with his band mate Ben Mansfield. Lauren Inglis performs ‘Golden Slumbers,’ from the Beatles’ album Abbey Road. A member of the LRHS concert and jazz band, Georgia Williams plays a solo on the alto saxophone. Dawson Oickle performs Ed Sheeran’s song, Thinking Out Loud,’ with Emma Moulton.
