Axes fly in Liverpool
Canadian championships return to Privateer Park
Privateer Park in Liverpool,
N.S. was the site of the Canadian Axe Throwing Championships Aug. 24 and 25.
This was the second year in a row that Liverpool hosted the event that includes not just local axe throwers, but even competitors from Europe.
In the junior division, Aidan Weeks place first, Lukas Nickerson second and Jordyn Hopkins came third.
Sweden’s Tina Nordberg finished first in the women’s division, followed by Sweden’s Anki Hedberg. Third place went to local athlete Rebecca Fancy, from Caledonia, N.S.
The men’s division saw Burlin Nickerson, from Pubnico, N.S. finish first. Daniel Hedberg came second and Germany’s Pierre Kaminski finished third. Cutlines:
