Fundraiser planned for Soul's Harbour Bridgewater on Feb. 26
The Bridgewater & Area Lions Club is sponsoring a Walk for Little Souls fundraiser for Soul's Harbour Bridgewater on Feb. 26 from 2 to 4 p.m. in Bridgewater along with several Lions club members. The event is also being made possible with the sponsorship of Betty Hadley at Dave's Vacuum Clinic Limited. This is a 5 km event around the town of Bridgewater.
Founder and administrator Vicky Sovie opened Soul's Harbour Bridgewater in 2016 along with chef Cheryl and a few other volunteers. They have been providing hot nutritious meals for free four days a week at 136 Pleasant
St., Bridgewater. They feed 20 to 40 people each day who are
struggling to feed themselves/ their families and others who may be feeling loneliness and are just looking for companionship. People are always welcome to drop in. Because of COVID-19, Sovie and her volunteers do have restrictions in place, but she is there to help anyone in need, even with supplying winter clothing, jackets, boots, mittens and other clothing needs.
Anyone who would like to join the Walk for Little Souls fundraiser is asked to call Lion Evelyn Snyder or Sovie. All monetary donations, including grocery store gift cards, will receive a tax receipt.
