Nominations sought for Chester business awards

- CONTRIBUTED

Customers still have a chance to show appreciation for Municipality of Chester (MOC) businesses by nominating their favourites in the seventh annual Best Of Chester Municipality Business Awards (BCMBA).

The initiative is a people's choice award program that begins with an online submission process where customers can nominate businesses in 23 categories, from best artisanal retailer to best farmers' market vendor.

All eligible businesses must operate within or have an office located in the Municipality

of Chester boundary.

Warden Allen Webber is delighted that the program is underway for another year, “The last two years have been tough. Supporting our local businesses in any way is especially important as we start to re-emerge post restrictions.”

Nominations are limited to one submission per category, per device (mobile, laptop, tablet).

Multiple submissions are accepted provided they are not for the same category. Once nominations close on April 4, at 11:59 p.m., they will be tallied and top business nominees in each category will compete during a public voting period occurring between April 18 and May 9. Winners will be announced on May 17.

Anyone wishing to nominate their picks is invited to do so at www.chester.ca/ Bestof. For more information about the process or program, contact Olivia Corkum at 902-277-1571 or email ocorkum@chester.ca.
