Nomination­s sought for community spirit award

Nova Scotians looking to show their community pride can now submit nomination­s for the 2022 Lieutenant­governor's Community Spirit Award.

In a recent news release, the provincial government said up to four communitie­s will be chosen for the award by a selection committee.

The award celebrates the power, strength and diversity of Nova Scotian communitie­s. The award also highlights the community's achievemen­ts.

“The Lieutenant-governor's Community Spirit Award is an opportunit­y to raise awareness about the incredible work community members do to contribute to a healthy, prosperous province,” said Communitie­s Minister Pat Dunn in the release. “Working together is the key to making sure all Nova Scotians have the best quality of life possible.”

The winning communitie­s will be honoured with a

handmade award, along with the unveiling of a sign to display in the community. A province-wide media post will also recognize the winners. Nomination­s must be submitted before May 20.
