Queens County Transit keeping communities connected

- CONTRIBUTED

Queens County Transit (QCT) is proud of what it has accomplished over the past years since its inception from the founding organization Queens Care Society. In fact, on March 31, 2022, QCT surpassed a milestone of the over 5,000 ridership mark for the past 12 months. An outstanding achievement considering they projected in their business plan of reaching two per cent of the population of Queens over a 10-year period. This is a tribute to the dedicated volunteers who saw this grow from an idea to a vital part of life in Queens County.

QCT is a non-profit service available to all people in

Queens — whether you live in Kempt, Danesville, Port L Hebert or somewhere in between. You can access this affordable, accessible, doorto-door transportation service just by booking 24 hours in advance at 902-356-2670. With an emphasis on seniors, low-income residents and persons with accessibility needs, they will help you access health services, essential services, social, recreation or educational needs. Wherever you want to go, they will make it happen.

Through the kind support of our community and service clubs QCT is able to offer subsidized fares to those with financial barriers. If you are reading this article and would like to make a donation to

QCT, you can drop into the office, go to the website www. queenscountytransit.ca or Canadahelps website.

In keeping with the concept of transportation service supporting the quality of life of the residents of Queens, QCT is pleased to launch their new outreach programs.
