FANTASTIC FESTIVAL

-

Lahave auctioneer Stuart Holman elicits bids while Falmouth folk artist Jim Tracey confers with committee chair Sue Kelly during the recent Nova Scotia Folk Art Festival in Lunenburg. Tracey’s piggy-back creation, entitled Farm Life, sold for $750. Attendance at the four-hour event was estimated to be more than 1,000 people. Attendees lined up more than four hours to be among the first in the door. Popular East Ship Harbour artist Barry Colpitts sold out in less than four minutes. Festival proceeds benefit the Lunenburg Heritage Society, which manages the Knaut-rhuland House Museum, designated as a National Historic Site of Canada.
