Elderdog looking for loving N.S. home for Pablo
Pablo is patiently waiting for his new family to discover him.
The sweet-natured, sevenyear-old German shepherd mix is available for adoption through Elderdog. This handsome boy has been neutered and weighs 66 pounds. He’s up to date on vaccinations (including rabies) and parasite prevention medication. He recently had dental work done, with two molars removed.
Pablo is affectionate with everyone he gets to know. He loves attention, especially belly rubs and ear scratches. He does bark when new people first arrive, but calms downw quickly.
He’s a strong dog and will pull on his leash when something catches his attention but his foster mother has had a lot of success with using a Halti and the “leave it” command.
He knows basic commands and is a quick learner.
Pablo is reactive towards other dogs; probably due to a lack of socialization.
Sudden noises make him anxious, but regular walking helps keep him calmer and a fenced-in yard would be great for him. Although he loves to get outside, he’s happy to spend most of his day indoors if it’s very hot or raining.
He’ll stay off the furniture if people want him to, but he’s happy to snuggle up on it with someone if allowed. He behaves well when left alone and does a happy dance to greet people when they return.
Pablo’s ideal home would be with an active couple or a family with older children, where he is the only pet. Pablo is currently in a foster home in Ontario but transportation can be arranged to other parts of Canada.
