Lenora Begin first recipient for 2022 Poppy Campaign

Lenora Begin became a member of Branch 49 Mahone Bay of the Royal Canadian Legion in 1960 and accumulate­d 57 years of continuous service as a member of the Ladies Auxiliary

Begin held the position of president of the Ladies Auxiliary from 1994 to 2017. Prior to that she also served as chaplain, sergeant-at-arms, an executive committee member and first vice-president. Begin consistent­ly took the lead as a convener/organizer for branch activities such as dinners, wedding receptions, luncheons and dances.

Begin has always been active in the community and was declared volunteer of the year for the town of Mahone Bay and awarded a provincial certificat­e honouring that declaratio­n in 2005.

Branch 49 Mahone Bay members are honoured to announce Begin as their first poppy recipient for the 2022 Poppy Campaign.
