T he recent increase in the rodent population in Swift Current has City officials busy working to try and find the origin of the pests and eradicate them.

Mac Forster, Director of Engineering, said they are busy keeping a close watch on the rat situation in town.

”Over the last three or four weeks we have received an increased number of calls reporting sightings of rats in the community. We have been following up on most of these sightings and found that there were a lot of them. We have not to date, despite a lot of our follow-ups, we have not found a location where rats are infesting a particular location in the community. Basically they are just individual sightings,” explainedMac Forster, Director of Engineering.
