Sched­uled air ser­vice con­firmed

Sched­uled air ser­vice in Swift Cur­rent is no longer a dream for res­i­dents of the South­west.

Swan­berg Air Inc. has added Swift Cur­rent on their flight sched­ule and ac­cord­ing to San­dra Blyth, Di­rec­tor Re­gional De­vel­op­ment, Com­mu­nity Fu­tures South­west it won’t be long be­fore you can fly to places like Grande Prairie, Red Deer, Cal­gary, Swift Cur­rent, Regina and Este­van.

“The pro­jected time line for the ser­vice to get run­ning is about 30 days.”

While noth­ing is of­fi­cial as far as pric­ing, Blyth did say that a ball park price for a ticket to Cal­gary would be in the $250 to $300 range with ad­vance book­ing prob­a­bly avail­able for cheaper.

Blyth is ex­cited as ad­vo­cates of flight ser­vice now have some­thing iden­ti­fi­able to work with.

“It was a hard sell to the po­ten­tial users of the ser­vice but it is great now that we have some­thing tan­gi­ble to of­fer them.”
