Swanberg Air expands service
A promising start to the return of scheduled air service to Swift Current has prompted Swanberg Air to expand from three to four day a week service starting immediately.
Swanberg Air is now flying in and out of the Swift Current Regional Airport on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
“The market in the southwest is definitely showing promise so far,” admitted Rich Wilde, Manager of Swanberg Air. “Now that we have sparked interest, we want to do what we can to accommodate that market and this is why we have decided to add another day to the schedule. We feel this change will be positive and are open to doing what we can to meet the needs of the Southwest traveler.”

Swanberg Air offers daily return flights to Regina and daily departures to Calgary. Also included on the schedule are flights to Red Deer and Grande Prairie, and soon to include Estevan.
“This change is definitely a positive one, but we have to keep in mind that Swanberg is a business that must see a return and if we don’t use the service it will be lost," noted Marty Salberg, Business Development Officer for the City of Swift Current. "We are encouraging people to do a little number crunching as they plan their budgets for 2010. For some, to factor in the cost to drive with travel time away from the office, possible cost of hotel stays, etc. flying may be a more feasible and efficient way to do business”.
