Emergency crews respond to semi trailer roll over

The Southwest Booster - - NEWS -

Emergency crews spent a number of hours at the scene of a semi-trailer roll over on Tuesday on Highway #4 at the top of the South hill leading into Saskatchewan Landing.

Swift Current Fire Department crews were among those responding to the roll over of a pup trailer unit filled with Anhydrous Ammonia. While no material was spilled, Fire Department personnel remained at the scene while waiting for the truck to be uprighted and taken off the highway.

The incident occured at approximately 9 a.m., and crews had blocked the highway for a one hour period. As of 11:30 a.m., only one lane of the highway was open, with traffic being directed through the area.

Fire Department personnel returned to the scene later Tuesday afternoon as workers begin the process of transferring Anhydrous Ammonia to another truck.

The cause of the accident is unknown at this time. There were no reported injuries.
