United miss fi­nals

The Swift Cur­rent Foresters United Soc­cer Club un­der-18 boys in­door soc­cer team fin­ished with a 2-1-1 record and a semi-fi­nals ap­pear­ance at the Saskatoon SYSCO Tour­na­ment.

Fri­day the U-18 boys opened the tour­na­ment with a 3-1 win over the Saskatoon East­side Aces. Car­son Leif­son, Con­rad Fla­trude, and Jesse Yuzik scored for United. Ryan Sten­strom earned the win in goal.

Satur­day af­ter­noon SCFUSC tied the Melfort Strik­ers 1-1 on a goal from Matt Bazin. Sten­strom earned the draw in goal.

Satur­day evening SCFUSC rolled to an 11-2 win over the Kin­der­s­ley Storm led by four goals from Dil­lon Friesen. Dal­ton Fisher added a pair, while Bazin, Leif­son, Dan­i­tra Letwiniuk, Tyler Nybo, and Sten­strom all added sin­gles in the blowout win. Fisher and Tan­ner Graf shared the win in goal. Sun­day the United boys were elim­i­nated in the semi­fi­nals with a 3-0 loss to their long­time ri­vals, the Hum­boldt Hur­ri­canes.

Next tour­na­ment action for the Foresters United U18 boys will be Jan­uary 8-10 in Regina.
