Southwest benefits from AgriSpirit Fund
Apair of Southwest projects received a combined $16,000 as part of funding announced by Farm Credit Canada through the AgriSpirit Fund.
The larger of the two contributions will deliver $10,000 to the SouthWest Centre for Entrepreneurial Development to purchase equipment for the centre.
The Lac Pelletier Regional Park will be receiving $6,000 for the purchase of playground equipment for Ona's Beach Playground.
In total Saskatchewan received $172,500 to support 23 groups, while Canada wide the AgriSpirit Fund delivered $1 million to 115 community groups.
The AgriSpirit Fund is a Farm Credit Canada programwhich delivers funding to assist with capital projects and community improvement projects in rural Canada.
“People in rural communities work very hard to raise funds for much-needed facilities in their communities,” stated Michael Hoffort, FCC Vice-President, Prairie Operations. “At FCC, we care about the communitieswhereour customers and employees live and work. The FCC AgriSpirit Fund helps us to support these projects and work with the individuals and groups responsible for leading them to strengthen their communities.”
Nationally, a total of 1,374 AgriSpirit applications were received, including 297 from Saskatchewan. The program has delivered $602,400 to Saskatchewan projects over the past six years and has contributed over $3.5 million in funding to rural communities acrossCanada.
