Penny Carnival brightens stormy Friday

The Southwest Booster - - NEWS -

Wet weather forced the Parks Play Program’s season ending Penny Carnival indoors, but a strong turn out of 300 to 400 children participated in the event hosted at the Credit Union iPlex last Friday.

Huge balloon displays, tables full of prizes, a food court brightly decorated with placemats from each of the event’s sponsors, and a snack booth selling popcorn, hot dogs, cotton candy and snow cones created a festive atmosphere for the kids.

Games included Gladiator Ring; Finding Nemo (a fishing activity); Disney Trivia; Crown the Princess ( blindfolded); Frog Hoppers (beanbag toss); a display from the Swift Current Watershed; a bouncer; Royal Relay; and a crafts table.

Face painting was a popular activity at Friday’s Penny Carnival.
