Brad Law, curling out of the Tartan Curling Club in Regina, was the class of the field as he topped the Sunridge Developments Sask Curling Tour Cash Bonspiel in Swift Current over the weekend.
Law won all five games as his strong season continued on the Sask Curling Tour. Law took on Saskatoon’s Shawn Joyce in the championship game and won 6-3 to take the championship.
Fox Valley’s Darren Engel came up with three wins before being eliminated 6-4 by Law in the championship event semifinal.
Engel opened with a 7-3 win over Joyce before falling 6-3 to Law.
In the C event, Engel defeated Regina’s Chris Busby 7-0 before a championship event quarter-final 7-6 win over Lloyd Fell out of the Unity Curling Club.
Engel teamed with Drew Wilby, Jason Barnhart, and Ryan Deis on the weekend.
Swift Current Clem Therrien finished 0-3 with losses to Brad Law, Fell, and Glenn Heitt. Therrien teamed with Tyler Friesen, Mitch Minken, and Jeff Chambers.
Members of Swift Current’s Clem Therrien rink were one of only two local rinks to compete at the Sunridge Developments Sask Curling Tour Cash Bonspiel in Swift Current.
