Man arrested in connection to armed bank robbery in Swift Current
Moose Jaw police have arrested a man in connection to an armed robbery in Swift Current last Friday.
Police have charged Devin Bellhumer, 24, from Calgary with robbery with violence following an armed robbery at the TD Canada Trust branch in Swift Current on Jan. 7.
Bellhumer is also facing charges in connection to a robbery at a TD Canada Trust branch in Moose Jaw this past Monday. His charges stem from a $2,000 robbery at Moose Jaw’s Main Street bank branch.
Police report that Monday’s robbery in Moose Jaw was conducted in a similar fashion to the Swift Current robbery. Some time later on January 9th, Moose Jaw Police service members arrested a male at the Moose Jaw Bus terminal, and a subsequent investigation resulted in the Swift Current charges.
Bellhumer has been remanded in custody and will make his next court appearance in Moose Jaw on Jan. 25th.
The Swift Current City RCMP Detachment notes that a number of tips were called in to police following the robbery, and they wish to extend their appreciation for this beneficial information.
