Although the monsoon-like conditions threatened to wipe out the entire tournament, the Swift Current Foresters United under-12 Sabre Cats were able to make it onto the pitch for their final tournament of the outdoor season.

Friday evening, the United Sabre Cats opened their tournament with a 21 win over the Lakewood Dragons.

Saturday morning, they tied the Aurora Ice 1-1 to remain unbeaten.

Saturday evening, they clinched a spot in the championship final with a 1-0 shutout of the Eastside Wildcats.

The U12 United Sabre Cats had a rematch against the Lakewood Dragons in Sunday morning’s championship final as the two teams locked up in a very defensive match. The game was played to a near stalemate before Lakewood scored the only goal with just a few minutes remaining in regulation for a 1-0 win.
